IDENTITY CRISIS AMONG BANGLADESHI PEOPLE

If you are a Bangladeshi, you may hear the question, what is your priority ?-your Muslim identity or your Bangladeshi identity or your Bengali identity.

first of all, for me they are not conflicting, I may have several identities at a time if they are not conflicting with each other. if any conflict arises I will choose my Muslim identity first, then my Bangladeshi identity and subsequently Bengali identity. now obviously many men will have many minds and I cannot force anyone to choose my way and anyone should not force me to choose their way.

now come to the logic behind my judgment.

1.as per my opinion, I am a purposeful creation as a human by almighty Allah, and Islam is the only way of living(Deen) approved by Allah.so whatever the condition my loyalty and duty towards almighty Allah will be my first consideration.i should follow Quran and authentic hadith above anything.it should keep in mind that Allah did not make border among countries, its the people who made borders among the countries and which is changing continuously throughout history. but it should be kept in mind that my relation with Allah(creation and creator) will not change over time. in the Afterlife, we will be asked about our duty towards Allah and towards his creations .we will not be asked about our national identity or identity based on language or culture.

2.now come to the second point, what should we choose between Bangladeshi and Bengali identity?in my opinion, we should choose Bangladeshi identity first because Bengali identity is based on language .suppose English language is spoken as an official language in many parts of the world, but all do not belong to the English nation. of course, our language is our pride, but people speaking another language in our country(Bangladesh) is nearer to us than those who speaking Bangla but not belongs to the same country(eg.west Bengal,asam,  etc.)though we shared the same culture for a long period of time. regarding culture, we should keep in mind that culture is a continuous phenomenon and it is always evolving .in my opinion Islam has shown the richest culture in human history and by the time it will infiltrate in all culture . (because it is very much true that strong and logical cultures will always predominate among the minor culture.)

3.one can bring a question that what was the ideology behind our liberation war in 1971 ? in my opinion our liberation in 1971war was a war between the oppressed /persecuted vs oppressor /persecutor.religion was not an issue there at all.

Before the discussion, I would like to say it's very much my personal opinion based on my experience and observation. of course, everyone will not agree with me. and different people will have different viewpoints. of course, there will be exceptions who will not fit in it, but there is a proverb-  exceptions are not examples.so no more talk, let's start:
positive sides :
1.cordial, warm, welcoming  to foreigners 
2.happy without being not too much rich, especially working-class people of the country(not true about middle and upper class)
3.family oriented, very caring about own family
4. religious mindset (but practice rate is low)
5.rich food culture(though not healthy always)
negative sides:
1.idle, prone to corruption and earning easy money by illegal means(surprisingly more common in educated class)
2.timid(but can be courageous if get a good leader/have a good reason)
3.lack of unity, lack of community feeling
4.show off
5.envious for others success, less trustworthy

A lot of people whenever they get the opportunity, become corrupted in Bangladesh which we saw again, recently in corona epidemic in aid distribution. corruption happens more or less in every country but of course, it became one of the major problems in Bangladesh.

people's psychology behind corruption:

many people in Bangladesh want to make money by any means especially in shortcuts, and if u ask about it to them, they will reply, everyone is doing the same, why not I ?.there is a nexus between govt officials including police, politicians and businessman.they are running organisations and dividing the profits. of course, there will be few exceptions, but exceptions are not an example. remember that it is not a new phenomenon, even ibn battuta in middle ages describes the country as hell crammed with good things.

so what is the solution?
the change will not come overnight, especially in a country with 160 million population who are competing among themselves in becoming rich.
the first thing to combat against corruption is the goodwill of the government. others steps are digitalization of govt. services with ensuring cybersecurity and to establish the rule of law in every aspect of citizen's life.and to build up the true institutions and to function them independently.

Indian PM Modi is expected to visit Dhaka for two days, starting March 16, during celebrations marking the 100th birthday of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Hasina’s father and the founding leader of the 49-year-old nation. Rahman was killed during a coup in 1975.

At least 42 people were killed and hundreds more injured during a 72-hour outburst of intercommunal violence in the Indian capital recently maximum of them are Muslims.it is now clear to the international community that BJP(Modi's party) and RSS leaders fueled the riot which left Muslim community of Delhi (in fact in the whole India) into a vulnerable position with immense fear for their lives and property.

The riots stemmed from tensions over amendments to a citizenship law that were passed by Modi’s government but seen by critics as discriminating against Muslims. The religious community forms the largest minority group in Hindu-majority India, which is one of Bangladesh’s closest allies.

so Bangladesh should not welcome pm, Modi, but any sort of violence should be avoided as well.here's why Bangladesh
should not welcome Modi-

1.it will hurt the emotion of Muslim's in Bangladesh.
2.there is no clear declaration about the treaty for unresolved river issues between the two countries which is hanging about a half-century. which caused disaster to millions of people of Bangladesh.
3.india -Bangladesh border is one of the borders of highest casualties in the world.still almost on regular basis Bangladeshi people are killed or oppressed by border security forces of India.
4.BJP government is planning for CAA/NRC.nobody knows Muslims who will lose their identity, where they will go. as Bangladesh is a neighbouring country, refugees may come to Bangladesh also.bangladesh has already 1.2 million refugees from Myanmar, if from India refugees come to this country, the economy may collapse.

I HAVE SERIOUS DOUBT ABOUT THE INTELLECTUALS OF BANGLADESH. THEY ARE GROSSLY PARTISAN.IT'S NOT A PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE PARTISAN, BUT IT'S PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE HIDING THE TRUTH FOR THEIR OWN ADVANTAGES THOUGH THEY KNOW THE FACT VERY WELL.

ANOTHER THING IS LACK OF KNOWLEDGE AND LACK OF SPECIALIZATION IN A PARTICULAR FIELD. ONLY A FEW OF THEM (REMEMBER BANGLADESH IS A NATION OF 160 MILLION)ARE WELL LEARNED BUT MAXIMUM OF THEM ARE FAR BELOW THE INTERNATIONAL STANDARD.

FOR EXAMPLE, ONE MILLION ROHINGYA CAME AS REFUGEE FROM MYANMAR TO BANGLADESH, BUT NOT A SINGLE GOOD BOOK HAVE NOT WRITTEN BY ANY BANGLADESHI SCHOLAR ABOUT THIS CRISIS IN THIS TWO YEARS THOUGH IT IS A
VERY BIG NATIONAL ISSUE. EVEN THERE IS NO VERY GOOD BOOK ABOUT MYANMAR AND THEIR CULTURE AND PEOPLE, IN BENGALI, THOUGH THEY ARE NEIGHBOUR FOR THOUSAND YEARS. IF YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT NEIGHBOUR VERY WELL, HOW WILL YOU NEGOTIATE WITH THEM? (OF COURSE, MYANMAR HAVE DONE SERIOUS CRIME, BUT I AM TAKING ABOUT OUR PREPARATION)

AFTER ABOUT 50 YEARS OF INDEPENDENCE, WHY OUR ENGINEERS CANNOT DESIGN A MAJOR BRIDGE OR ANY MEGA PROJECT? THEN WHY SUCH BIG ENGINEERING UNIVERSITIES ARE THERE, FOR WHAT? WHY NO BANGLADESHI UNIVERSITY CAME WITHIN FIRST THOUSAND, IN THE WORLD RANKING OF UNIVERSITIES FOR MANY YEARS?

MAXIMUM INTELLECTUALS ARE WHOLEHEARTEDLY CORRUPTED, THEY ARE NOT DOING WHAT THEY SUPPOSED TO DO. INTELLECTUALS ENLIGHTEN A NATION. THEY WILL BRING NEW IDEAS, NEW HOMEGROWN SOLUTIONS OF OUR PROBLEMS BUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING? BECOMING PARTISAN IS NOT A PROBLEM(EVEN IN 1ST WORLD COUNTRIES HAVE PARTISAN INTELLECTUALS)  BUT NOT DOING ONE'S OWN DUTY IS A BIG PROBLEM BECAUSE THEY ARE WASTING NATION'S WEALTH.
